: Tanjung Benoa
Neighbouring Tanjung Benoa, located just outside the gates to Nusa Dua, offers a wide variety of water sports, therefore this extended area is complementary to Nusa Dua's tranquil atmosphere. It is an excellent choice for both large and
small groups, has the complete infrastructure to create the perfect balance between work, play and relaxation.
The beaches lack the public crowds as mostl beaches are controlled and managed by the hotels along Nusa Dua to Tanjung Benoa. The beaches are white sand and guests mostly use the area for real relax, sun bathing, and the place is good for any kind of
water sport activities. including, diving, snorkeling, fishing, wind serving, parasailing, Day Cruises across to Nusa Lembongan Island, Dinner cruise is also available on this area.
Tanjung Benoa
Tanjung Benoa is the natural northern continuation of Nusa Dua, with the beautiful white sand beach stretching the length of the coast. It is a booming resort, popular with water sports enthusiasts.
Visitors can enjoy many types of water recreation and sports such as snorkelling, parasailling, diving, boating, sailing, glass bottom boating and more. This area is an extension of Nusa Dua Resort, with easy access to its luxurious hotels and
other tourism facilities.
This beach is a bit quiet compared to public beaches as mostly those beach controlled and managed by all hotels along in Nusa Dua till Tanjung Benoa beach. It is a white sandy beach guests mostly for relaxing & sun bathing. Because of the quiet,
tranquil conditions these beaches are good for all kinds of water sport activities including, diving, snorkeling, fishing, wind surfing and parasailing. From the harbour at the end of the Tanjung Benoa peninsula many day Cruises leave each day
for a cruise across to Nusa Lembongan Island. Dinner cruises are also available each day leaving from Benoa Harbour.
Activities
Tanjung Benoa has a large number of water-sports operators one of which is Hotdog featuring water-sports such as dolphin tour, fishing, parasailing, wave runners, wake boarding, water skiing, knee boarding, snorkel rental and glass bottom boat
trips.
Facilities are available at reasonable rates in over 10 locations. The following is a rough price guide. Canoes: $6/hour. Deep-sea fishing: $50-$75. Scuba Diving: $34-$85 for certified divers, $55 (boat dive). Snorkeling around Nusa Dua: $10. Day
trips to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan: cost $60/boat. Banana boats, water scooters, water skiing, jet skis, wave runners, windsurfers, and parasailing are also available.
Dining - Nusa Dua & Tanjung Benoa
The Tanjung Benoa area has an increasing number of good restaurants. Near the peninsula tip, the sumptuous Beluga Watersport Complex is a hull shaped restaurant renowned for its rijsttafel for only $10/person and another to try is the beachside Rai restaurant features
lobster and fresh fish grilled to perfection. For good European fare and pizza, dine at the Novotel Benoa. At the southern end, across from Club Med (and a favorite of its staff), is the Casanova Italian restaurant. For Indonesian food, Bambu Indah
has a good reputation among locals. More upscale but excellent quality is Pasar Senggol, nightly at Grand Hyatt Bali, for approx $37, all you can eat of a variety of Indonesian fare from vendor carts and stalls, plus an excellent dance performance.
There are also a number of popular restaurants lining the street just outside the South Gate of the Nusa Dua complex (at the round-about & statue near the Ayoda Palace Hotel - formerly the Hilton Hotel). Also along this road are a number of arts
& crafts shops as well as a few small mini-markets.
Tanjung Benoa Café offers Indonesian, Chinese and European cuisine with a romantic atmosphere. Loco Cafè sits under a large open air bamboo alang-alang roof and seats about 70 people. The
restaurant has a small bar and is open from 11am-midnight. The new up-market Tao restaurant is also gaining popularity.
Shopping - Nusa Dua & Tanjung Benoa
Although the Nusa Dua / Tanjung Benoa area does not compare to Kuta or Denpasar for choice, you can find a wide range of products in a much smaller area. Bali Collection (formerly Galleria) has a large Sogo Department store and a large number of
smaller stores selling top quality fashion, shoes, surf gear, crafts and jewelry as well as a large variety of restaurants and coffee shops.
There are a number of leather shops where you can bargain for custom-made leather jackets for as little as $120 as well as a arts and crafts market with all of the local items
that are found in all the main tourist areas, minus the chic of some of the Legian and Sanur shops. The markets area also boasts some restaurants set among the crafts shops and these are popular with many tourists.
Healthcare
Healthcare is an important concern for anyone in Bali especially when taking part in serious activities like surfing, kite boarding and parasailing. For those staying in Tanjung Benoa, there is the Pratama Clinic offering medical services which include
minor injury care, medical check ups and a dentist. Pratama Clinic is open from 9am-12pm and from 6pm-8pm. There is also an ambulance on call 24 hours a day. The brand new Surya Hasada Clinic is available in Jl Siligita, Nusa
Dua and can treat all types of injuries or general health problems and also has a small hospital and dispensary. Kimia Farma has a large Apotik (Chemist/Drug Store) on Jl By Pass Ngurah Rai, in the middle of Nusa Dua with most prescription
